Good: Survey: iPhone retention 94% vs. Android 47% (Technology)

Finds tall pent up direct for iPhone 5 between Verizon subscribers as good as Android owners

It’s usually a little sample, so vast conclusions contingency not be drawn. But the consult formula reported in Gene Munster’s note to Piper Jaffray clients Monday indicate which the restrained direct for Apple’s (AAPL) subsequent iPhone could be even stronger than suspected.

• At AT&T, which same metric is 53%.
• Among existent iPhone users, 94% design to buy an additional iPhone (6% design to switch to Android)
• Among existent Android users 47% design to buy an additional Android smartphone (42% design to switch to iPhone). [Emphasis ours.]
• Among all BlackBerry users only 26% design to buy an additional BlackBerry, 67% design to buy an iPhone as good as 3% design to buy an Android device.

“In alternative words,” Munster concludes, “our consult suggests Apple will take share from BlackBerry and, to a obtuse degree, Android as good as alternative smartphones as good as underline phones in the future. “
